There was a fair turnout of voters in the supplementary poll.

Voters came in their numbers to vote while security agencies including police, army and civil defence personnel were on ground to prevent a repeat of the violence that called for the supplementary election.

The REC, Salami, had sued for peace among members of different political parties at the polling units, urging them “to desist from activities that can disrupt the process for the second time”.

The Chairman of Ido/Osi Local Government, Dr Lawrence Ogunsina, who said that the election process was free, fair and credible, said that Bimodal Voter Authentication System functioned properly, adding that INEC staff were efficient in the discharge of their duties at the three polling units.

The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti state Command, Dare Ogundare, who cautioned that police would not condone any act of violence had implored eligible voters “to go out enmass to exercise their franchise without any form of apprehension”.
