Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCiN) have once again proven their worth in the Nigerian energy industry by winning yet another award at the ongoing 6th Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES).

The award for “Outstanding Commitment To Nigeria’s Decade Of Gas” was presented to SCiN by the Nigerian Gas Association in recognition of the company’s unwavering contributions to the realization of the Decade of Gas aspiration.

This is not the first time that SCiN has been recognized for its exceptional contributions to the energy industry in Nigeria.

Earlier in the day, the company had won six other awards at the State House Banquet Hall.

The awards included “Upstream Company of the Year 2022,” “Best Offshore Oil & Gas Development Facilities Company,” “Best Exhibitor 2022,” and “Best Gender Support Company in the Energy Space.” The “African Oil & Gas Policy Advocate & Shaper of the Year” award was also presented to Mr. Ed Ubong, the Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Gas.

In his remarks, Mr. Osagie Okunbor, the Country Chair of SCiN and Managing Director of the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited, expressed his pleasure over the awards. He was accompanied by Mrs. Elohor Aiboni, the Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration & Production Company. Mr. Okunbor stated that the awards were a recognition of SCiN’s commitment to Nigeria’s energy-mix objectives.

He said, “We are immensely grateful for the recognition of Shell’s contributions to the Decade of Gas aspiration, and we remain relentless in our bid to make significant contributions to the progress of the energy industry in Nigeria.”
