In a bid to bolster operational efficiency and strengthen functional administration within the Nigerian Army (NA), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has approved the posting and redeployment of senior officers to various commands and formations across the country.

The development was announced by Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, in a statement released on Saturday.

“In an effort to reposition the Nigerian Army (NA) for operational efficiency and functional administration, the chief of army staff ( COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja has approved the posting and appointment of some senior officers of the Nigerian Army (NA) to command, instructional and staff appointments across NA formations and units,” the statement reads.

The newly appointed senior officers have been urged by Lagbaja to redouble their efforts in combating these security challenges.

According to the statement, the following senior officers have been reassigned to different roles:

  1. AB Ibrahim has been appointed to the Department of Policy and Plans (DAPP).
  2. BR Sinjen will serve in the Department of Army Operations (DAOPs).
  3. OR Aiyenigba has been assigned to the Department of Army Standards and Evaluation.
  4. NC Ugbo will be working in the Department of Civil Military.
  5. E Akerejola has been appointed Chief of Logistics in the Army Headquarters Department of Logistics.
  6. BA Alabi assumes the position of GOC at Headquarters 1 Division.
  7. AE Abubakar has been appointed GOC 3 Division/Commander Operation Safe Haven (OPSH).
  8. PP Mala will take charge as GOC/Commander Sector 1 Joint Task North-East Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) at Headquarters 7 Division.
  9. GU Chibuisi will assume the role of Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force NE Operation (OPHK).
  10. IS Ali has been appointed as Force Commander at HQ MNJTF.
  11. EAP Undiandeye will serve as Chief of Defence Intelligence at the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA).
  12. OO Oluyede has been assigned as Commander of the Infantry Corps.
  13. MG Kangye will assume command at the Headquarters Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery.
  14. AA Adeyinka will serve as Commander at the Headquarters Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport.
  15. KO Aligbe has been appointed Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command.
  16. JO Ochai will assume the position of Commandant at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA).
  17. IB Maina will serve as Commandant at the Army War College, Nigeria.
  18. TB Ugiagbe will act as Chief of Military Intelligence (Army).
  19. OG Onubogu has been appointed as the Commandant of the Martin Luther Agwai International Peacekeeping Centre.
  20. N Ashinze will serve as Director of Fusion at the Defence Intelligence Agency.
  21. AO Onasanya will be the acting Commander at Headquarters Guards Brigade.
