President Bola Tinubu made on Tuesday evening returned to Lagos following his week-long sojourn to Paris and London.

The prominent leader arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja aboard his Gulfstream jet, where a jubilant crowd of supporters eagerly awaited his arrival.

Tinubu’s return to his hometown comes just in time for the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir festivities scheduled for Wednesday.

His visit to Paris was marked by his participation in the notable summit for A New Global Financing Pact, an event hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron. Prior to his arrival in Lagos, Tinubu made a brief stop in London for a private visit. This journey was initially intended to conclude with his return to Abuja on Saturday; however, the President decided to alter his plans and extend his stay in London. A statement from his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communication, and Strategy, Dele Alake, revealed this change in schedule.

While President Tinubu makes his way back to Lagos, Vice President Kashim Shettima embarked on a journey from Abuja to Maiduguri in Borno State. Shettima will be observing this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festivities in Maiduguri, emphasizing the significance of the occasion for the region.

As Nigeria prepares to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, the return of President Tinubu to Lagos and Vice President Shettima’s visit to Maiduguri underline the importance of these festivities for the nation’s leadership.
