Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano state has expressed no remorse for his decision to demolish certain structures throughout the state.

During the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations, he shared this sentiment with the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, at the government house.

The governor clarified that the demolition was aimed at reclaiming public properties that had been illegally acquired, and he emphasized his commitment to restoring such properties for the benefit of the people of Kano.

He specifically mentioned that he did not regret the demolition of structures that had been sold off by the previous administration under Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Governor Yusuf expressed his appreciation for the visit from the Emir and the members of the Emirate Council, highlighting that it was the first of its kind since he took office.

He also outlined the achievements of his administration in the past 31 days, which included paying NECO fees amounting to N1.5 billion for 55,000 secondary school students, restoring street lights, and reducing incidents of phone snatching within Kano metropolis.

Additionally, he mentioned the resumption of screening for foreign scholarships for Kano indigenes with first-class degrees, timely payment of salaries and pensions, and the removal of tons of refuse from the metropolis.

Governor Yusuf urged the Emir to continue supporting the policies of his administration, which are aimed at bringing development to the state and providing democratic benefits to the people.

In response, the Emir, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, explained that his visit was to extend Eid El Kabir greetings to the Governor and assured him of his readiness to offer valuable advice for the development of the state.

Furthermore, the Emir called on the government and affluent individuals to assist the less privileged in mitigating the impact of fuel subsidy removal.
