The management of Dangote Refinery has set the record straight regarding the composition of its workforce amid recent reports alleging a disproportionate number of foreign workers.

According to the Group Chief Branding & Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, the refinery’s workforce indeed includes 6,400 Indian workers, 3,250 Chinese workers, and an impressive 30,000+ skilled Nigerians.

Chiejina clarified that the massive scale of the Dangote Refinery project necessitates a diverse and specialized workforce from across the globe.

However, he emphasized that the heart of the project lies in empowering and engaging Nigerian talent.

Contrary to misleading claims, the refinery’s management affirmed its unwavering commitment to prioritizing local employment opportunities.

At its peak construction phase, over 30,000 skilled Nigerian workers were actively involved in various roles within the refinery complex.

While acknowledging the contributions of 6,400 Indian workers and 3,250 Chinese workers, Chiejina highlighted that the Nigerian workforce’s technical competence and capabilities have been commendable throughout the project’s execution.

He said the refinery’s engagement of local talent has revealed hidden skills and expertise among Nigerian youths, further validating the country’s potential to excel in such endeavors.

The Group Chief Branding & Communications Officer urged the public to disregard any misinterpretations or negative narratives, emphasizing that the Dangote Group remains firmly committed to boosting Nigeria’s economic landscape through extensive local employment opportunities.
