Former Taraba State Governor, Rev. Jolly Tavoro Nyame, has shared insights into the lessons he garnered during his time served in the Kuje Correctional Centre.

Speaking at a Thanksgiving service held at the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) secretariat in Jalingo, Nyame expressed his commitment to emerge as a more capable leader if given a second chance to govern the state.

The ex-governor, who spent four years of a 14-year sentence, revealed that his incarceration had provided him with invaluable experiences that have shaped his perspective on leadership.

Nyame emphasized the need for resilience and unwavering faith, advising leaders to stand strong in the face of challenges.

“I learned a lot while in Kuje Prison and in the hospital. If given another opportunity to lead the people of Taraba State, I will do better because of the experience I have gained,” Nyame declared.

He attributed his imprisonment to political motivations and used the occasion to convey a message of hope and unity for Nigerians. Nyame stressed the significance of prayer and faith in the nation’s future.

Reflecting on personal experiences, the former governor urged Nigerians to be prudent in their expenses while calling on the government to prioritize policies that enhance the lives of citizens.
