The body of the late former Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, has returned to Nigeria.
The plane carrying the remains touched down at approximately 3:39 p.m. on Friday.
Akeredolu, who served as the Governor of Ondo State, passed away on December 27, 2023, following an extended battle with prostate cancer. His body was transported from Germany, where he breathed his last.
Upon arrival at the airport, the late Governor’s remains were received by his wife, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, accompanied by his children and siblings, led by Prof. Wole Akeredolu, his immediate younger brother.
The somber event marked the beginning of funeral preparations and final respects to the departed leader.
