A self-acclaimed man of God who also claims to be a traditional healer, Pastor Udo Obot Job, has been arrested by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl who is the daughter of one of his patient.
In a statement, the police say that the 60-year-old pastor committed the act when the girl went to visit her father who was receiving treatment at the pastor’s healing home.
According to the police, when the girl visited, the pastor was said to have sent the mother who was staying with her father, to the market purportedly to get items for treatment and when the mother was out of the way, he lured the girl into his room and forcefully raped her.
He allegedly warned the girl that she would die if she told anyone what he did to her, claiming that as a pastor and herbalist, he had the powers to kill her.
But the girl defied him and reported the rape to her mother who informed the police.
