The music world is abuzz with excitement as the highly anticipated 66th Grammy Awards ceremony is set to take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, United States. Ahead of the prestigious event, here are the key details to keep in mind:

Host:

Trevor Noah, the renowned South African comedian and TV personality, returns to host the award show for the fourth consecutive year. Noah’s 2022 Netflix comedy special, “I Wish You Would,” has also earned a nomination in the ‘Best Comedy Album’ category.

Time:

The premiere ceremony will kick off live from the Peacock Theater at 3:30 PM in LA, corresponding to 10:30 PM Nigerian time. The main award ceremony is slated to commence at 8:00 PM in LA (8 PM ET / 5 PM PT), which translates to 3 AM Nigerian time.

How to Watch:

Afrobeats and the African music industry will take center stage at this year’s Grammy Awards. The introduction of the ‘Best African Music Performance’ category for the 66th edition marks a historic moment for African music. Burna Boy leads the Nigerian contingent with nominations in four categories, including ‘Best Melodic Rap,’ ‘Best Global Music Album,’ ‘Best Global Music Performance,’ and ‘Best African Music Performance.’ Davido, receiving his first-ever nomination, earned recognition in three categories, including ‘Best Global Album’ for ‘Timeless.’ Other notable nominees include Asake, Olamide, Tems, and Ayra Starr, showcasing the diverse talent emerging from Nigeria’s music scene.
