The Police Service Commission (PSC) has disowned the circulating examination dates for the ongoing recruitment of constables in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

The PSC clarified that it has not officially announced any examination date and urged applicants to disregard the information currently trending on social media.

The commission emphasized that the official announcement of the examination date would be made in due course, and successful applicants from the recently concluded screening exercise would be duly notified.

The PSC further warned applicants against relying on unofficial information and encouraged them to exercise patience.

In a statement, Ikechukwu Ani, the spokesperson for the PSC, revealed that the commission has directed the Police Cyber-crime Unit to investigate the source of the trending publication on social media and quickly arrest the culprits for prosecution.

“The commission wishes to advise prospective applicants to disregard any communication or updates on the ongoing recruitment exercise that are not officially issued by the commission through its recognized media platforms,” the statement read.

“Applicants are advised to exercise patience and await the commission’s official statement on the date for the examination.  The date will also be formally communicated to shortlisted applicants who were successful from the screening exercise.”

Dr. Solomon Arase, the Chairman of the PSC, cautioned against desperation and assured that successful candidates would contribute to the nation’s security, especially in the ongoing fight against insurgency and banditry.

Arase acknowledged the high expectations of Nigerians and pledged that the recruitment process would meet and exceed those expectations.
