The late Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has been buried at his country home in Owo, Ondo State.

Governor Akeredolu, who passed away in Germany on December 26, last year, was honored with a dignified burial ceremony attended by eminent personalities from across Nigeria, paying their respects to the departed leader.

The late governor, aged 67, was conveyed from the state capital to his hometown on Wednesday, where he was received by the state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and members of the executive council. His body was then transported to his final resting place in Owo.

At the funeral service held at the Saint Andrews Cathedral Church in Imola, Owo, distinguished guests, including President Bola Tinubu, extolled the virtues of the late Governor Akeredolu, highlighting his contributions to the development of Ondo State and his unwavering commitment to public service.

President Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, led a host of state governors, ministers, APC chieftains, and top government officials in paying homage to Governor Akeredolu.
