The federal government has announced the successful release of the abducted pupils from Kuriga village in Kaduna state. The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, disclosed this during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Contrary to speculation, Minister Idris affirmed that no ransom was paid for the release of the kidnapped children. He reiterated the government’s commitment, as promised by President Tinubu, to ensuring the safe return of the victims without succumbing to ransom demands.

The Minister commended the collaborative efforts of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Service Chiefs, and other stakeholders in facilitating the children’s release. He added that President Tinubu has directed security agencies to intensify efforts in curbing the menace of kidnapping nationwide.

The government also urged citizens to remain vigilant and collaborate with security agencies to ensure a safer and more secure Nigeria for all.
