Adanma Luke, the producer of an upcoming movie in which the late actor Junior Pope Odonwodo was set to feature, has voluntarily surrendered to the police for questioning.

The development comes in the wake of Pope’s tragic passing after he fell into the River Niger in Asaba, Delta state, on his way to a movie location.

According to Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, Luke was not arrested but willingly presented herself to the authorities.

Ikenga further disclosed that the two boat drivers involved in the incident are also currently in custody as part of the ongoing investigation into Pope’s death.

“She was not arrested; she came by herself, and her statement was obtained. We also have in custody the two boat drivers, and interrogation is still ongoing,” Ikenga stated.

He also confirmed that the bodies of the other three missing individuals have been recovered.

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) had earlier taken action in response to Pope’s demise, suspending all movie productions involving riverine locations.

Emeka Rollas, the president of the AGN, also issued a directive cautioning filmmakers against collaborating with Luke “until further notice.”
