Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have departed for Kaduna to interact with wounded soldiers, as part of their 3-day private visit to Nigeria. The couple spent a few minutes at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja before departing for Kaduna.

The visit is centered around the Invictus Games, an international adaptive sports competition for wounded servicemen, women, and veterans, which Prince Harry established in 2014. The Duke and Duchess are in Nigeria on the invitation of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa.

Earlier on Friday, the couple visited the Light Academy in Wuse, Abuja, an institution supported by the Archewell Foundation. The visit is aimed at promoting the welfare and rehabilitation of wounded soldiers and veterans, and to raise awareness about the importance of supporting those who have served their country.

The Duke and Duchess declined to speak with newsmen before departing for Kaduna, but their visit is expected to bring attention to the important work of the Invictus Games and the need to support wounded soldiers and veterans.
