In a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, it has been confirmed that President Bola Tinubu will not be giving a national broadcast to mark his one year in office on May 29.

Instead, the President will address a joint session of the National Assembly as part of a program commemorating 25 years of democratic journey in Nigeria.

The President’s speech is expected to highlight the achievements of his administration and Nigeria’s democracy since 1999.

Other notable personalities lined up to address the joint National Assembly include former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, former Senate President David Mark, and former Speaker and Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.

After the speeches, President Tinubu will commission the National Assembly Library and Resource Center, which will be renamed the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Building. This event is part of the program lined up to celebrate 25 years of democratic governance in Nigeria.
