President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has named roads in the Guzape District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) after two literary giants, Chinua Achebe and John Pepper Clark-Bekederemo. This was announced at the inauguration of engineering infrastructure in Guzape District Lot II.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, had appealed to the President to name major roads in Guzape District after the two literary giants, which was approved by the President.

Chinua Achebe, a Nigerian novelist, poet, and critic, is best known for his novel “Things Fall Apart”, while JP Clark, a Nigerian poet and playwright, is known for his poems such as “Abiku” and “The Casualties”.

This comes after the President recently named the newly inaugurated Arterial Road N20 in Abuja after Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka.
