Ibrahim Lamuwa, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has denied allegations of sexual harassment leveled against him by a female staff member, Simisola Fajemirokun Ajayi. The allegation was made through a petition to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, filed by Femi Falana (SAN).

Lamuwa, through his lawyers, described the allegations as false and malicious, stating that he has never made sexual advances towards Fajemirokun-Ajayi, who is a married woman. He also denied inviting her to his room during a ministry retreat and clarified that their conversations were innocuous and jokingly made.

The permanent secretary believes that the allegations are tied to his firm objections to improper requests made by Fajemirokun-Ajayi, particularly regarding financial matters in the ministry. He emphasized that he has served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 32 years without any query or report of harassment.
