Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that the wedding ring he gifted his fiancée, Chioma, is worth the price of two or three Rolls Royce cars.
Given that the average cost of a Rolls Royce is about $500,000, which amounts to ₦745 million at the exchange rate of ₦1,490/USD, the ring is estimated to be valued around $1.5 million.
Earlier this month, Davido announced that he and Chioma would be tying the knot in Lagos on June 25. The much-anticipated wedding will be an exclusive event, as disclosed by socialite Cubana Chief Priest, who shared an Instagram post featuring Davido and Chioma with their friends. The caption emphasized that the ceremony would be a “strict gathering of real friends and family.”
In a video accompanying the post, several luxury cars, including a few Rolls-Royce, were showcased in preparation for the event. Davido boasted about the extravagant ring, comparing its value to the cost of multiple Rolls-Royce cars. “We’re rolling on a Rolls-Royce. A Yoruba man steps out and says I am coming down to Imo to pick an amazing fruit and it’s happening,” Cubana said.
“They fought it. They tried to stop it. They did everything possible to end it but the will of God happened,” he added, reflecting on the couple’s journey.
Davido and Chioma got engaged in 2019, but their relationship faced challenges in 2021 amid allegations of the singer being involved in another relationship. Tragically, the couple lost their first child, Ifeanyi, on October 30, 2022.
Despite the setbacks, Davido announced in March 2023 that he and Chioma were officially married. “I travelled. I am married. A lot of different things but we are ready now to get back on the road,” he said at the time.
