Former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has made a sensational claim about embattled former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, in a teaser for the upcoming documentary “Is It Your Money?: The Story of Diezani Alison-Madueke,” directed by Chude Jideonwo.

Sowore alleged that Diezani, who served as Nigeria’s petroleum minister from 2010 to 2015, rented out a yacht bought with Nigerian state funds to prominent figures, including American billionaire celebrity couple Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

“All the revelations that came out of the Diezani story by now should have become a movie. Buying a yacht with the money of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and riding it around and renting it out to Jay-Z and his wife, Beyoncé. I think that is more brazen,” Sowore said in the documentary teaser.

Diezani Alison-Madueke, the first female president of OPEC, has faced multiple corruption charges both in Nigeria and internationally.

The allegations include the diversion of billions of dollars from Nigerian oil revenue, the inflation of oil contracts, accepting bribes from oil companies, and laundering money through complex financial schemes. Diezani has consistently denied all allegations of corruption, maintaining that she acted with integrity during her time in office.

“Is It Your Money?” marks the first time Diezani will directly address these accusations in eight years. The documentary, directed by Jideonwo, is expected to provide an in-depth exploration of the controversies surrounding her tenure and includes the perspectives of various Nigerians.

The exact release date for the documentary has not yet been announced, but it is confirmed for release sometime
