Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, swore in 22 new justices for the Court of Appeal on Wednesday in Abuja. He warned them against delivering conflicting judgments, stating that such conduct would be met with consequences.

The CJN emphasized the importance of upright judgment, urging the new justices to adjudicate according to the constitution. The inauguration ceremony also saw the swearing-in of 11 new judges for the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), including the wife of the FCT Minister, Eberechi Wike, and Justice Donatus Okorowo of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

The new justices include Abdullahi Muhammad Liman, Abiodun Azeem Akinyemi, Olukayode Adegbola Adeniyi, and others from various states across Nigeria. The CJN’s warning comes as the judiciary has faced criticism over conflicting judgments in recent times.
