The Senate has unanimously voted to replace Senator Ali Ndume with Senator Tahir Munguno as the new Chief Whip. The decision was made following a letter from the APC National Headquarters, which was read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, complaining about Ndume’s “unbecoming utterances”.

The voice vote was unanimous, and Munguno’s appointment was effective immediately. This development marks a significant change in the Senate’s leadership, and it remains to be seen how Munguno will perform in his new role.

Ndume’s removal as Chief Whip comes after his controversial statements and criticisms of the government’s policies. The APC had previously expressed dissatisfaction with his comments, leading to his replacement.
