DSS Arrests Mastermind Behind Kidnapping of Rarara’s Mother, Recovers N26.5m Ransom

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Kano have arrested one of the masterminds behind the kidnapping of Hajiya Hauwa’u Adamu, the mother of popular political singer, Dauda Kahutu Rarara.

The arrest was made during a covert operation in Makarfi bushes, where the suspects were sharing the ransom money.

According to a source within the DSS, the operatives recovered N26.5 million in cash and killed one suspect, Bature, during the operation. Another suspect, Hamisu Tukur, was arrested with gunshot injuries and is currently in custody.

Hajiya Hauwa’u Adamu was kidnapped from her residence in Kahutu about three weeks ago and spent 20 days in captivity before regaining her freedom. The DSS has been investigating the kidnapping and has made significant progress in apprehending those responsible.
