Gunmen Abduct Over 20 Medical Students in Benue State

More than 20 medical and dental students, along with a house officer, were kidnapped by gunmen while traveling to a convention in Enugu. The students, from the University of Maiduguri and the University of Jos, were ambushed around 5:30 pm in the Otukpo area.

The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the abduction and is investigating the incident. No official demand for ransom or conditions for their release has been made.

This incident is the latest in a series of kidnappings in Benue State, which has left communities in fear and insecurity.
