Police Thwart Independence Day Attacks, Apprehend Four Suspects

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has successfully thwarted planned attacks on government institutions and estates in the nation’s capital on Independence Day, Okay.ng reports.

Four suspects were apprehended in the Sauka area of the FCT following an intelligence report on their activities.

This was disclosed in a statement on Thursday by the command spokesperson Josephine Adeh.

The suspects, identified as Yau Sani (aka Baba), Nuhu (aka Giwa), Kabiru Mohammed, and Yusuf Hassan, were also involved in multiple kidnappings and confessed to the killing of seven individuals.

Additionally, the suspects led the police to a forest in Niger where they had concealed their weapons. A total of four AK-47 guns and 175 ammunitions were recovered from them.

Furthermore, the suspects disclosed plans to attack government institutions and estates within the FCT, all of which were preemptively stopped by the Command.

The FCT Police Command emphasizes its dedication to eradicating crime and urges the public to report any suspicious activities to the police emergency lines.
