Cristel Nchama, one of the women allegedly featured in the explicit videos involving Baltasar Engonga, has filed a formal complaint with the National Gendarmerie in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.

Engonga, who served as the director-general of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), has been at the center of a scandal since authorities uncovered around 400 explicit videos amid an investigation into alleged fraud.

The discovery included footage of Engonga with multiple women, among them prominent figures such as his brother’s wife, his cousin, the sister of Equatorial Guinea’s president, the wife of the director-general of police, and numerous ministers’ wives.

The tapes, which reportedly feature encounters in Engonga’s office, hotels, and even toilets, were allegedly filmed with the consent of the participants.

In her complaint, Cristel disclosed that she had a four-year relationship with Engonga and felt profoundly humiliated by the leaked videos.

She accused him of betrayal, asserting that she had initially resisted being filmed and was assured any recordings would be deleted.

“I am humiliated, it is my reputation, my honour, I want to know where these images came from and why he kept the images,” Cristel said, demanding that Engonga compensate her for the damage done to her “reputation and honour.”

The government responded swiftly to the scandal, dismissing Engonga from his role on Thursday. Authorities also suspended officials implicated in similar inappropriate conduct within ministry offices.
