The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the elimination of several bandits in Babban Kauye village, Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State, following precision airstrikes conducted on November 15, 2024.

The operation, part of Fansan Yamma, also destroyed key hideouts used by the criminal groups.

In a statement on Sunday, Olusola Akinboyewa, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, said the strikes were initiated after intelligence reports revealed that bandits were planning coordinated attacks against civilians and security personnel along the Tsafe axis.

“These airstrikes targeted a large gathering of bandits in Babban Kauye village in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State,” Akinboyewa stated.

“Ground reports confirmed the elimination of several high-ranking members of the bandit groups, significantly weakening their operational capacity.”

The operation reportedly killed key associates of notorious kingpins Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule, both linked to violent attacks on communities, security forces, and critical infrastructure in the region.

Akinboyewa highlighted Tsafe as a longtime hotspot for bandit activities, with remote areas like Babban Kauye serving as safe havens for planning and launching operations.

He reiterated the NAF’s commitment to partnering with other security agencies to eliminate threats posed by terrorists and bandits across the country.

“The NAF remains committed, alongside other security agencies, to eliminating threats posed by terrorists and bandits in our country,” he added.
