Nigeria has inked a monumental 2,600-megawatt (MW) solar module supply agreement with LONGi Solar France SARL. This landmark deal, facilitated by the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, marks one of the largest solar procurements in sub-Saharan Africa, according to Minister Uche Nnaji’s recent statement.
The agreement will fuel Nigeria’s ambitious Green Hydrogen Hub Project, strategically located within the Liberty Oil & Gas Free Trade Zone in Akwa Ibom State. He highlighted the significance of deploying LONGi’s high-efficiency modules, ensuring optimal energy yield in Nigeria’s demanding climate.
