Saudi Arabia announced on Saturday that the crescent moon marking the beginning of Shawwal has been sighted, confirming that Eid al-Fitr will be observed on Sunday, March 30, 2025.

The official declaration was made via the Haramain Facebook page, a key platform for global Islamic announcements.

“The crescent moon for the month of Shawwal 1446 was sighted in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, Eid Al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, March 30, 2025,” the statement read.

Eid al-Fitr, one of the most significant celebrations in Islam, marks the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection for Muslims worldwide.

With this confirmation, millions of worshippers in Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and all over the world are preparing to commemorate the occasion with prayers, feasts, and charitable activities.
