Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has strongly criticised the Bola Tinubu administration over what he described as a failed and ineffective security system, following yet another wave of deadly attacks in Plateau State, okay.ng reports.

In a statement posted on his verified X handle on Friday, Atiku condemned the increasing frequency of killings across the country, particularly the recent violence in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau, where several lives were lost.

According to Atiku, the current security architecture under President Tinubu has not only failed to curb violence but has also made killings a disturbingly regular occurrence.

“The failure of Bola Tinubu’s security architecture has now become an endemic nationwide phenomenon with repeated killings—more of which do not even make the headlines,” he said.

He warned that Nigerians were gradually becoming numb to violence, with the consistent bloodshed turning into a norm rather than an exception.

Atiku once again called on the Federal Government to urgently re-evaluate and overhaul the nation’s security framework to prevent further loss of lives and restore citizens’ confidence.

“I wish to restate my counsel to the Tinubu-led Federal Government to reconfigure its security architecture to meet the needs of protecting the lives and properties of our people,” he stated.

The former vice president’s remarks come amid mounting public concern over the rising wave of insecurity, particularly in rural communities often left vulnerable to attacks.
