Sir Paul Chukwuma, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Anambra State, has resigned from the party less than 24 hours before the primary elections, okay.ng reports.

He announced his withdrawal from the race in a letter to his ward chairman, citing a desire to build a “broader, more inclusive political movement” to support President Tinubu’s agenda.

Chukwuma’s resignation follows widespread allegations of internal strife within the Anambra APC, stemming from a disputed ward delegate election. Party members accused leadership of manipulating delegate lists to favor a specific candidate.

In his resignation letter, Chukwuma affirmed his continued support for Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, while expressing gratitude to his ward chairman. He also pledged to focus on building a “safe and prosperous Anambra state.”
While he did not disclose his future political plans, including whether he would contest the November 2025 governorship election under another party, Chukwuma stated he would take time to “rest and evaluate” before making a decision. His resignation leaves his supporters and the APC in Anambra state uncertain of his next move.
