In the wake of his recent tribunal victory, Governor Monday Okpebholo has vowed to spearhead an infrastructural transformation across Edo Central Senatorial District, particularly in Esan land, okay.ng reports.

The governor made the promise on Saturday during a grand reception held in his honour in Ewatto, Esan South East Local Government Area. The event, hosted by philanthropist Dr. Lemon Ikpea, was attended by political allies, traditional leaders, and supporters from across the state.

In a statement released Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, Okpebholo expressed gratitude to the people of Edo State for their unwavering support, reaffirming his commitment to delivering lasting development.

“The people of Edo State will not regret voting for me as their governor,” Okpebholo declared. “We are ushering in a new era where infrastructural development will touch every part of the state, especially Esan land.”

He emphasized that his administration will prioritize road construction, provision of clean water, and measures to reduce travel time, while positioning the region to align more closely with the federal government’s reform agenda under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Very soon, there will be a wave of defections into the APC from opposition parties,” he noted. “The South-South must unite and speak with one voice as we approach 2027.”

Reflecting on his journey into politics, Okpebholo shared a personal story about losing his sister to a waterborne illness—an experience that fueled his determination to seek public office.

“In 2021, it was difficult to find an Esan candidate willing to contest under the APC, but in 2022, a conversation changed everything. That moment became the eye-opener that led me to run for Senate, and now I stand here as governor,” he said.

The governor also paid a visit to the site of a medical centre project under construction in Idumuiyase, Ewatto, funded by Dr. Ikpea. He toured the facility and commended the philanthropist’s commitment to healthcare development in the region.

As Okpebholo settles further into his role, expectations are high among constituents who hope his “uncommon grace and transformation,” as he calls it, will translate into tangible progress across Edo State.
