The Federal Government has refuted allegations of bias in its federal appointments, stating that all selections are made in strict adherence to the federal character principle enshrined in the Constitution. In a statement released on Friday through the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, the government described claims of lopsidedness as unfounded and misleading.

The statement underscored President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to national unity and fairness in governance, asserting that his administration is dedicated to ensuring adequate representation for all regions and demographics within federal institutions.

The government urged Nigerians to disregard what it called divisive and baseless allegations circulating, particularly on social media. It encouraged the public to rely on official government channels, specifically directing inquiries about federal appointments to the OSGF, the official custodian of relevant records, for accurate information.
