Operatives from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted a fuel tanker that was ingeniously altered to hide and transport illegal drugs across Nigeria.

The agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Mr. Femi Babafemi, confirmed the breakthrough on Sunday via a post on X.com.

Babafemi explained that the discovery occurred during a focused stop-and-search operation, where officers found a carefully crafted hidden compartment within the tanker’s belly. This covert space was specifically designed for drug trafficking.

He stated, “Narco-trend: Fuel tanker on top but drug tanker beneath! Please watch how #ndlea_nigeria officers discovered a large storage created in the belly of this oil tanker for the sole purpose of moving drugs across the country.”

The agency’s efforts highlight ongoing vigilance against sophisticated drug smuggling methods, reinforcing NDLEA’s commitment to combating narcotics trafficking nationwide.
