President Bola Tinubu publicly announced that his grievances with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu have been resolved, stating unequivocally that “all his sins” have been forgiven.

This announcement followed a pivotal meeting between the President and members of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), who had convened to seek clemency on behalf of the governor and others perceived to have fallen out of favor.

Chairman of the GAC, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, warmly welcomed President Tinubu to Lagos and candidly acknowledged the President’s apparent displeasure with certain individuals in the state, particularly Governor Sanwo-Olu. Olusi earnestly appealed for mercy, emphasizing the need for reconciliation and unity.

According to multiple sources present at the meeting, President Tinubu responded with a conciliatory tone, assuring those gathered, “It’s all over now. All is forgiven.” He further emphasized that he harbored no lingering anger toward anyone, especially the Governor.

The atmosphere in the room shifted palpably as Governor Sanwo-Olu and other members of the GAC prostrated themselves before the President, a gesture symbolizing remorse and a desire for peace. Notably, the meeting did not delve into the specifics of the disagreements or require either party to explain past events. Instead, the focus was on seeking and granting unconditional forgiveness.

This reconciliation marks a crucial turning point in the relationship between the federal government and Lagos State leadership, potentially paving the way for smoother governance and collaboration moving forward.
