Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, has called on Nigerians to prioritise made-in-Nigeria products to boost national economic growth and job creation.

  • Driving industrialisation

In a video message shared by former presidential aide Reno Omokri on X, Dangote appealed to citizens to reduce dependence on imported goods. He stressed that supporting local industries would help build a more resilient and prosperous economy.

Promoting self-reliance

“I want to encourage all Nigerians to buy only made in Nigeria. When you buy anything made in Nigeria, you are helping to create jobs,” Dangote said.

He noted that sustained patronage of locally produced goods would strengthen national productivity. “The only way for us to be a stronger nation is to patronise ourselves,” he added.

Dangote, one of Africa’s leading industrialists, has long championed economic self-sufficiency through his investments across multiple sectors, including cement, sugar, salt, and oil refining.

Driving industrialisation

His conglomerate, the Dangote Group, remains one of Nigeria’s largest private employers and a key player in the nation’s industrialisation drive.

Dangote has repeatedly highlighted that increasing domestic manufacturing and consumption is vital for stabilising the naira, cutting import dependency, and expanding local employment.

Economists also agree that increased demand for homegrown goods could significantly stimulate local industries, enhance value chains, and support small businesses.

The billionaire concluded by reaffirming his commitment to advancing Nigeria’s self-sustaining economic future through innovation and production expansion.
