The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected drug dealers following coordinated intelligence-led raids across various locations in the state.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, confirmed the arrests in a statement to journalists, noting that the operation took place on October 18, 2025, after a series of intelligence reports linked the suspects to the distribution of illicit substances within and outside Jigawa State.

According to the police, the operation led to the seizure of a significant cache of narcotics and intoxicants. Items recovered included 13,505 Exol tablets, 1,583 D5 tablets, 3,572 Tramadol capsules, 565 Diazepam tablets, 2,469 bottles of Rubber Solution, as well as blocks and 886 wraps of cannabis (Indian hemp), alongside Suck and Die, Akuskura, Farin Malam (340 sachets) and 1,042 assorted hard drugs.

The suspects, identified as Muhammad Garba, Musa Garba, and Hudu Ma’ilu, all from Guneri village, Malamawa district, Niger Republic, were said to have been under police watch for months before their eventual arrest.

SP Shiisu said the suspects are in custody undergoing further investigation and will be charged to court once preliminary inquiries are completed.

He added that the Commissioner of Police commended the operatives for their efforts, reiterating the command’s zero-tolerance policy toward drug-related crimes.

The police further appealed to residents to assist ongoing security operations by providing credible intelligence that could aid in the identification and arrest of criminal elements across the state.
