Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Anambra State, has emerged as the winner at his polling unit during the 2025 state election.

The result, announced by Presiding Officer IfeanyiChukwu Chikams Peace at about 4:01 p.m. on Saturday, showed Ukachukwu securing a total of 234 votes across two booths in Polling Unit 12, Ward 2, Umudiala village, Osumenyi, Nnewi South Local Government Area. Booth 1 recorded 108 votes for Ukachukwu and four for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, while Booth 2 had 126 votes for APC against six for APGA.

Okay News reports that after voting, Ukachukwu raised concerns about vote buying across the state, calling it a “menace” that could undermine the electoral process. He highlighted attacks on some party agents in areas like Utuh, Nnewi South, and appealed to security agencies to enforce electoral laws and protect voters.

Despite these challenges, Ukachukwu expressed confidence in APC’s chances, emphasizing that voting is a civic responsibility and proof of a citizen’s right to both vote and be elected. He also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the timely deployment of election materials and officials, which helped streamline the voting process.

Observers have described the election as largely peaceful and well-managed, although allegations of vote buying have emerged from several political parties.
