In a major development designed to enhance international participation in the upcoming Africa Cup Of Nations scheduled to take place in the Kingdom of Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, the Confederation of African Football and the Local Organising Committee have jointly introduced a free electronic visa initiative for all eligible supporters.
Okay News reports that the announcement marks the latest effort by the tournament organisers to ensure that global football enthusiasts from countries with standard visa entry restrictions can travel to Morocco without the additional burden of visa costs.
According to an official communication released on the Confederation of African Football website, “Electronic visas to enter Morocco — obtained through the YALLA app — are now free of charge for supporters attending the competition, which runs from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.” The governing body explained that the decision responds to increased global demand as thousands of fans continue to secure tickets and prepare for the continent’s largest football gathering.
The organisers further clarified that every travelling supporter must possess two crucial documents: a Fan Identification and an Electronic Visa. These documents serve as essential requirements for accommodation, entry into Morocco, and access to stadiums where matches will be hosted throughout the extended tournament period.
A detailed breakdown from the Confederation of African Football emphasised that “A Fan ID is mandatory for entry to all stadiums and official Fan Areas. Supporters can apply for both the Fan ID and e-visa in one place inside the YALLA app, streamlining travel and stadium access.”
The YALLA mobile application, which is available to users globally through major app stores, has been configured to simplify the entire travel authentication process for local and international fans. The platform ensures that fans can submit their applications, complete the required forms, and, where necessary, finalise electronic visa requests without navigating multiple systems.
The Confederation of African Football added that “The Fan ID application and e-visa request are completed seamlessly within the YALLA app, ensuring a faster, easier and secure experience for international visitors and local fans alike.”
Upon approval, supporters are immediately able to purchase official match tickets via the Confederation of African Football’s exclusive ticketing portal. This is expected to increase early ticket sales and reduce congestion as the tournament date draws near.
Organisers highlighted that the upcoming championship, which will be played across nine stadiums in six Moroccan cities, aims to establish a new global benchmark for convenience, safety, and tourism accessibility during major sporting events. “The new measures are designed to deliver a seamless, secure fan experience for Africa’s showpiece event that will be played across nine stadiums in six cities,” the Confederation of African Football confirmed.
Morocco is hosting the tournament for the first time since 1988, and preparations have intensified across the host cities as the region anticipates renewed tourism, strengthened continental unity, and expanded economic activities. With twenty four national teams expected to participate, the football festival is projected to attract some of the world’s most passionate supporters and showcase Africa’s emerging generation of football talent.
