The Ogun State Ministry of Justice says it is accelerating the prosecution of TikTok content creator Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, following a string of dangerous road traffic incidents that have triggered widespread public concern.

The ministry’s announcement, shared Monday on the government’s official X account, centers on the November 1, 2025 crash in Sagamu, where Abiodun rammed into two motorcycles, leaving a rider and a female passenger badly injured.

Eyewitnesses, according to the statement, said Abiodun attempted to flee the scene before angry passersby prevented him from escaping.

Okay News reports that the government described his pattern of behaviour as a serious threat to public safety.

“While it may be reasonable to allow crash victims get compensation from persons who have driven recklessly and to resolve road traffic collisions as a civil wrong, some road users are special dangers to society and should be held to account under criminal law. Mr Abiodun is one such person,” the statement read.

According to the ministry, at least two of Abiodun’s recent crashes were captured on video, showing what it called “self-evident” reckless conduct. Despite this, the content creator returned to driving “with no greater care,” prompting the state to intervene decisively.

The ministry also referenced another incident involving DJ Chicken on November 23, 2025 in Lekki, Lagos State, describing it as a lone-car crash that “almost harmed pedestrians, but for good fortune and the pedestrians’ quick reflexes.”

To ensure accountability, Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has directed prosecutors to fast-track the Sagamu crash case.

“Accordingly, the Attorney-General and Honourable Commissioner for Justice – Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN – has directed relevant officers to expedite action on the pending crash case from Sagamu for prompt arraignment,” the statement said.

The ministry added that it is working closely with law enforcement to “protect the public and ensure safer roads for all.”
