The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has officially announced the commencement of recruitment for Fifty Thousand (50,000) Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force.
Okay News reports that the massive recruitment drive follows a directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, aimed at strengthening community policing, enhancing internal security, and expanding the manpower base of the Nigeria Police Force.

Presidential Directive Behind the Recruitment
Following President Tinubu’s directive aimed at addressing Nigeria’s security challenges, the Commission has approved the opening of the recruitment portal for applications from eligible Nigerians.
This represents one of the largest single intakes into the Nigeria Police Force in recent years and offers thousands of young Nigerians an opportunity to serve their country while building a career in law enforcement.
Who Can Apply? Eligibility Requirements
The recruitment covers two main categories: General Duty and Specialist roles.
General Eligibility for All Applicants:
Interested candidates must:
- Be Nigerian citizens by birth
- Be aged between 18 and 25 years for General Duty; 18 to 28 years for Specialists
- Be medically, physically and psychologically fit
- Not be less than 1.67m (male) and 1.64m (female) in height (for General Duty only)
- Meet other requirements as shall be specified on the recruitment portal
Educational Qualifications Required
For General Duty Cadre:
Applicants must be holders of:
- GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO or their equivalents
- Minimum of five (5) credits including:
- English Language (compulsory)
- Mathematics (compulsory)
- Three other relevant subjects
- Results must be obtained in not more than two sittings
For Specialists Cadre:
Applicants must possess:
- GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO or their equivalents
- Minimum of four (4) credits including:
- English Language (compulsory)
- Mathematics (compulsory)
- Two other relevant subjects
- Results must be obtained in not more than two sittings
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in relevant fields/areas
- Trade Tests in relevant specializations
