Karl Toriola, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Nigeria, has been named CEO of the Year by the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) ahead of the organisation’s Lagos Diaspora Experience 2025.
Okay News reports that the award celebrates leaders whose work strengthens global African achievement and Black excellence across business, media, culture and technology.
The recognition will be formally presented during the MIPAD End of the Year Awards scheduled for December 21, 2025, in Lagos.
MIPAD described Toriola as an executive whose leadership has had a profound impact on Nigeria’s digital economy.
As part of the announcement, MIPAD said Toriola will deliver a keynote address during the Lagos Diaspora Experience 2025.
The Lagos Diaspora Experience will run for one week and marks the first time MIPAD’s global recognition activities, traditionally held in New York during the United Nations General Assembly, will take place in Nigeria.
The 2025 edition will also feature Diaspora Day at the Fela Exhibition at the Ecobank Pan African Centre, Cultural Heritage Day, and the Business Leadership Luncheon, all leading up to the awards ceremony.
