The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has officially received Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State into the party following his formal resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement issued on Friday, January 2, 2026, on behalf of the National Working Committee, Yilwatda described the governor’s decision to join the APC as a bold and patriotic move driven by a higher calling to serve the residents of Plateau State and the country at large.

Okay News reports that Yilwatda characterized the governor’s entry into the party as a statement of hope and a commitment to a shared vision of inclusive development, peace, and prosperity.

The APC leadership expressed a deep sense of partnership, assuring Governor Mutfwang of their collective resolve to work closely with his administration to advance the state’s interests and deliver meaningful results to the people. While welcoming the governor to the “progressive family,” the chairman emphasized that the party remains dedicated to strengthening its structures and ensuring the delivery of democratic dividends across the region.
