While Nollywood actors and actresses are yet to publicly identify with President-elect, Gen Muhammadu Buhari as a group, their Northern version- Kannywood, three days ago paid him a congratulatory visit at his home in Daura, Katsina state.

And during the courtesy visit, PremiumTimes reports that Buhari pledged to stop piracy in their movie industry.

Gen Buhari also thanked Kannywood for its contribution to his presidential campaign. He said:

“I appreciate all that you have done; the beautiful campaign songs, the video jingles and the drama awareness on our party’s manifestos. They were all beautiful and I thank you.”

The delegation was led by  the Arewa Film Makers Association president, Isma’ila Na’abba.
