The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a warning to the federal government to allow Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State to live in peace.
National vice chairman of the party in the South South, Prince Hilliard Eta, issued the warning while condemning the recent siege on the National Assembly. He said Gov. Amaechi has the democratic right to express his individual views over the nation-state, Nigeria.
The party stressed that it will resist any attempt to muzzle the governor.
It would be recalled that Amaechi had said on a private cable TV station that if the 2015 elections were discovered to have been rigged, the APC would not hesitate to form a parallel government.
The party said that the only way to stop further revelation and disclosure of President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration undemocratic plots is for it to desist forthwith from contemplating to rig the general elections.
APC also insisted that there are ominous signs by the presidency to rig the 2015 elections hence its growing threat to castrate the efforts of the opposition party to counter it as indicated in the illegal deployment of the police in every undemocratic venture it undertakes.
The APC statement maintained that the  confusion created by INEC in the recent issuance of PVC, CVR in Lagos, Kano and Rivers states known to have massive support for APC was a strategy to reduce the strength of the party in those states so as to dim the party’s chances of winning massively there.
