The Northern States Governors’ Forum has elected Borno State Governor as the chairman of the forum.

Shettima, who was elected during a meeting of the NSGF on Monday at the Niger State Governors Lodge in Abuja, will be assisted by the current Deputy Governor of Kano State and Governor- elect, Abdullahi Ganduje as deputy chairman.

The outgoing chairman, at the end of the meeting, Governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu revealed to journalists that state governors in the country have agreed to bury past issues and move on.

He expressed hope that henceforth, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum will remain united and work for the common good of the country.

“The goal is to mediate and unite the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, that has been fragmented in the past few years,” the governor said.
