Another explosion has occurred in Maiduguri, Borno State, just 2 days after four people died in a market blast.

The explosion occurred at about 12.35 pm today, June 2, 2015, at the abattoir in the state capital, Daily Trust reports.

Witnesses said that the bomb was kept in a plastic bag in a commercial toilet facility within the abattoir.

“The bomb was kept in a bag near the rest house and the owner pretended as if he wanted to ease himself,” butcher Tanko Mahauchi said.

“Many people were killed when the bomb exploded and many others sustained serious injuries,” he added.

No official casualty figure has been provided from the incident.

This is the second attack on Maiduguri today as members of Boko Haram were said to have launched an attack on the town earlier today.
