An FCT High Court on Tuesday remanded the former chairman of the Goodluck Support Group, Aminu Abubakar and Geoffrey Okechukwu over charges of blackmail, conspiracy and extortion.

The men were being prosecuted by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) on a three-count charge.

Justice Ishaq Bello remanded the accused persons but their bail application hearing comes up on June 11.

The two campaigners of former president Goodluck Jonathan pleaded not guilty to the offences.

Their counsel, E.A. Egbedu, brought an application challenging the jurisdiction of the court to hear the case.

The accused persons were said to have threatened to publish some indicting documents against some officials of the Ministry of Petroleum except they agree to pay the sum of N25 million.

The judge has adjourned the matter to July 9 for hearing.
