Former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar yesterday accused the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the country of using security operatives against members of the All Progressive Congress, APC because it cannot match the strength of the opposition.
Atiku described the action of the PDP as the height of impunity stressing that the APC would not tolerate such behaviour in Ebonyi state and other part of the country.
The former Vice President stated this in Abakaliki while briefing APC party faithfuls on his presidential ambition and on the need for the party to remain strong and formidable during the 2015 general election.
“We must fight against one party rule in this country. The PDP has turn the security operatives to confront those of us in opposition. This is the height of impunity; we will show them that there is no place for them in Ebonyi and any other place”
He urged APC members to maintain law and order especially throughout the election period even as he described himself as the most qualified and experienced presidential candidate in the country.
“You are more in number; they can only show you money they have corruptly gotten. We are concerned about the ordinary people; ensure that in all election that you vote for APC so that there will be change.
“In the political history of this country, this is the only time we have the opportunity to make a positive change in the life of the people. The choice of the majority should be respected; we have pledged that whoever wins, we will support that person at the primary election.
“Do not vote for any other party apart from APC; because am concerned about the welfare of the party that is why am visiting the headquarters of our party in different states so that I will know what to do when I win election.
“Your vote is your pass to development and everything you are looking for; we are not like PDP that is insensitive that has said that they will govern the country for the next 60 years; we are not PDP who are stealing government money to support their party.
“I deserve your support because am the only experienced politicians in the country; I stand out clearly among all those contesting for President in this country”.
