The second in command to the late Ooni of Ife and head of Ife kingmakers, the Obalufe, Oba Solomon Folorunso Omisakin, is dead, aged 85.

His death has now halted the process of selection and appointment of the new Ooni as the ancient town begins another round of mourning which may last for several weeks.

Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade died in July, more than two months ago.
